It was my last day today. It was the kids sports day in the morning and in the afternoon I threw a party for them. I got some lovely flowers, cards and presents from them plus lots of hugs. I'm really going to miss them. Yes, they were a wild and crazy bunch but deep down nice children. I do feel sorry for the kids at this school as they get far too many probationers who have to leave each year. You just begin to get established within a school and then you have to leave.

I've been taking everything I put into the classroom home over the last few days. So much stuff! I felt if I made it, I'm taking it as its soo much work to start from scratch all over and I spent alot of my money on items aswell. I've no idea where it is all going to go at the moment. I'm still looking for a job. Hopefully something will turn up soon. I'm so glad to have found a career that I love.

Hey thanks everyone :-)

Time to start applying for jobs here, there and everywhere and with a bit of luck I'll be sorted before next term.

Shaz, everything else seems to be going fine. Just packing to go on holiday. Marcus should be coming up just after I return and it will be my birthday. I'll be 26- what a shocker. Not ready for that! How are things with you?

sarah :-)

Sarah,

How refreshing!  I love hearing the reflections of new teachers.  It brings me back to when I was in the classroom and renews my zeal for helping those who are truly on the front lines.

You're a gem and a treasure.  Any principal will be excited to have you on campus, I know I would.

La~

Sarah, with your dedication, your heart....you are going to wind up doing exactly what you need to do for your own soul--and for education.

Would that all teachers had the "right stuff" you have.

God bless you, friend.  Have a wonderful summer, and come back to education with renewed dedication.  If I had kids--or grandkids, I'd surely put them in your classroom.

Pat

Hi Sarah,
As a retired Music Teacher, I know the feeling of the last day of teaching for the year!
From all you have said about the teaching profession as a personal experience, I know you will land a new position with a great school system and great kids.
God bless,
John
PS    Getting all the 'stuff' home is always a poblem.   We do not ever realize all the 'stuff' we purchase for the classroom.    It is amazing.   Good fortune!!!!!!!!   J
